Jim West is playing a show tonight at Cafe Cordiale in Sherman Oaks, CA, at 9pm.
I would go considering it's free and about five minutes from my apartment, but it's on at the same time as LOST. Tsk, tsk, Jim...

This is why I wanted him to come to Texas...
Oh well, I'm sure I'll see more of him live eventually. I hope he can get someone to book him in more states.
And thanks Vikki. It was very fun to be a part of the whole thing!

So I take it no one's going to this show tonight?

Seriously, Jon, you can't record "LOST"?

I don't have a means to record it, but whenever I miss a show I always, er, "obtain" it other ways. Actually, LOST is now on Hulu in addition to already being on abc.com.
Regardless, I pay for a cable bill every month and watching LOST live as it broadcasts is pretty much the main reason for that.

Man, I'd never make it if I couldn't record TV shows. You could, just this once, watch it a couple hours late...
Just a thought. Or, you can wait and see Jim perform at AL FEST.

Believe me, I'd never make it either. I also have zero moral qualm with the way I end up watching such shows. It involves a torrent is all I will say about that...

Using that method, I never have a problem downloading TV shows when I miss them, and it's actually much higher quality than my TV.
That being said, there is still something to watching the drama unfold in real time with commercials, live on the air. For any other show I would skip it, but not LOST. It's the last episode before the season finale tonight anyway...
Also, it wouldn't be "just this once." Last week, the cable inexplicably went out nine minutes before the show started and returned a few hours later. Luckily I got a refund in my cable bill because of that. Many times, because of work or other factors, I've had to miss LOST so when I do have the chance to watch it live I always do.
I realize this is way off topic now, but I will give you one more example about my commitment to this show. There was one time when I had been out on a date with a girl who invited me back to her place (and yes it was implied what was going to happen once we got there), but I turned her down because the season premiere of LOST was about to come on. So if she doesn't take priority, neither does Jim.

He plays shows in the area often enough that I'm sure I'll see him eventually. And if not, AlFest it is!!

wow. Okay, I'm gonna leave this one alone, Jon.
Back on topic--Did anyone go last night? If so, how was it?

I tried. Actually got to Sherman Oaks, but spilled a beverage on self and was too embarrassed to show up thus decorated and perfumed, so I grabbed a chicken salad at Rubio's and slunk off back home.
