I don't understand why Darryl threw such a large level of negativity onto Al. Seems like something really personal from the eighties! He could have just said: they're not like Weird Al Yankovic, and that would be quite a little negative, but pretty enough! But he added that following sentence that I wouldn't repeat in relation to Al or ANYONE, and that was pretty scary. Why such negativity? I don't get it.

Its probably cause there are three types of people when it comes to Al;
1. People who worship the ground he Polkas on
2. People who've never heard of him
3. People who are sick of him.
Im guessing Daryl Hall falls into the third catagorie.
btw, I got so miffed at him I had to do something drastic....like...change my signature!!

I have no idea who Daryl Hall is... but I don't like him >:S

Can anyone on this topic honestly say they do like him?
I mean, I've never heard of the guy, I have no idea about his work and I don't even know what he looks like! (well, other than he has a tragic mullet, thanks ludovica64!!)
But in one simple sentance, he's managed to show that he's petty, ignorant and frankly just plain jealous. Hence the reason that I want him to dive into a swimming pool filled with double edged razorblades. >:)
EDIT: I just realised that this post has made me into a 'Die hard fan!!'

Actually, I thought the Hall and Oates stuff was among the better pop music coming out in the late 1970s-early 1980s, although that's not exactly the highest of compliments, I know. I recall that they were not crazy with the advent of music videos and the pressure to put a visual face on their music; I recall Darryl Hall in an interview complaining about that sometime in the early to mid 1980s. Maybe Al NOT parodying them in their heyday put Darryl Hall's nose out of joint?
It was a completely out of the blue snotty comment, to be sure. Doesn't make me think highly of Darryl Hall.

Oates rocked hard. And honestly, while I would possibly never buy an album, I do like some of the stuff they put out.
People tell me they were good (I was way too young back then. I just turned 24), but since I only know a few songs, I can't really judge too much.
