Sorry I'm so late in getting into this thread...kids...driving me bonkers... But, I digress.
It was good to meet so many of you, Kaffy, Nancy, Patti, and seeing Kari again after the Lansing show. Like Patti and Kari, I showed up late, but I had a good reason.
I got my tickets off of Freecycle. Another lady won them off our local radio station and then got sick, so she couldn't go. She posted them as I was getting dinner for my kids, 1-1/4 hours
before the show. I called her, she still had the tickets and so I took 20 minutes to get ready, drove 30 minutes out of my way to get them and then another 40 minutes to the show. After I got there, I got parked and as I walked up to the building , I met Patti and Kari looking kinda lost. Anyway, I went up to my crappy upper tier seat and had a good time. Now if you're wondering why my wife didn't accompany me, well, we couldn't find anyone to watch the kids for us on such short notice. And she made a good point that if she had to opportunity to see the Dixie Chicks on such short notice, but I couldn't make it, she'd be out the door. So I went.
So, I thought the show was really good, but IMO, the energy didn't seem as "out there" as the Lansing show...not anything w/ band, but the audience wasn't as energetic...just my observation. I did see Al singing to Kaffy...that was quite cool.
Anyway, after the show, I hung out w/ Patti while she waited to get backstage...and Kari ran off to find a water fountain for her contacts. () So while we waited, I got the following pics of Patti in her Ren Fair outfit:
Patti looking quite chic and, um, high(?) on the experience.
And Patti getting trying to get a bit naughty w/ me (j/k)
