I typed out what I could read from the flyer. It was hard to read some parts. I didn't search for the correct spelling of the Animators, but I did my best... There are some errors, I'm aware of that. Again, I did my best.
I ommited the Italics and Bold coding.

The text of the flyer looks like it says this:

"Weird Al" Yankovic has reigned for over 20 years as the best-selling musical comedy artist in history, with over 12 million albums sold, three Grammy Awards (nine nominations), 10 MTV/VH1 specials, his own feature file, a Disney Channel special, a CBS television series and countless miles logged on tour.

With unparalleled acclaim for his musical satire, Al is best known for his parodies of the biggest stars in the musical universe: Eminem, Nirvana, Madonna, Michael Jackson, U2, P. Diddy, Mick Jagger and Sting are just a few of those who have been awarded the "Weird Al" Treatment - and all with the full blessings from the artists themselves. Nirvana's Kurt Cobain called Al "America's pop rock genius," Michael Jackson loaned the actual set where he made his "Bad" video to Al to do his parody video and it was Madonna who actually suggested to Al the parody idea for "Like a Virgin." Paul McCartney, upon meeting Al, asked him "... when are you going to do one of mine?"

For his latest release, Straight Outta Lynwood, "Weird Al" continues to reward his countless fans around the globe with yet another collection of insanely inclusive musical comedy. Selections include parodies of smash hits by ... sorry... top secret!

It's not the list of artists he's parodied that I find fishy, it's the stuff about Madonna suggesting her own song parody, Michael Jackson lending Al his set, and the other bits that bothers me. It just doesn't seem like the kind of information that would be put in this sort of thing.

Plus, both of those specific mentions are in fact false. MJ didn't lend Al his set for the "Bad" video, as the quote clearly states. It was his set for "Moonwalker" which was used in the "Fat" video. And Madonna didn't mention her idea to Al himself, as the quote also suggests, but rather to a friend.

And I've never heard that Paul McCartney quote before. If that part is true, it's new to me.

I typed all that information up and THEN he posts a much clearer version of it..
UGH!!!

Oh well, now anyone who doesn't want to downloa it can still read it...

My eyes hurt from the blurry text on the first scan... But I'll be ok... :D

Al did do a Paul McCarteny parody, Chicken Pot Pie. However, Paul is a vegetarian, he wouldn't let him do it. Now, I think, Al requested to record the parody on an album, an thats why he denied. But this was before Al was popular, like his first album, so he didn't ask this before Al asked him. Now, either, I'm wrong and Al never asked to put this on his album, the flyer made a mistake or this is one CRAZY hoax.

Ever pad a resumé? :P

Seriously, yep, some facts here are fudged, no doubt about it.

Though if a record company wrote this, it's not like those are things immediatly known. But then again, that also brings up one of Jeremy's points:

It just doesn't seem like the kind of information that would be put in this sort of thing.

So hey, who knows :D

Well Music89, if this is 100 percent legit, then you'll definitely be a valuable resource! :D Tell your Dad to see if he can scrounge up some more details for us, hehe, and be on the lookout for more announcements about Al.

Thanks. (It's always nice to start posting here with new spoilers.)

That's exactly my point, Dingo. If a record company exec wrote this, then sure they could make simple mistakes like that or "fudge" the facts. But the stuff about the "Moonwalker" set and Madonna suggesting LaS are not common knowledge to those outside of Al's hardcore fanbase.

However, if someone more well-informed wrote it, then wouldn't they know their facts and not make such false statements?
