Favorite Polka?

I have to go with Hot Rocks.

Listening to that Stones greatest hits album that came out last year and hearing all the original songs was just too fun an experience.

Bohemian Polka is indeed a masterpiece, but since my stepfather loves Queen and can't stand Al (Bet he *loved* the Simpsons a couple weeks ago..heh heh) I can't listen to it on full blast like God intended. Oh well....

I said "Bohemian Rhapsody," since I love that song and most of Queen's other songs, plus the sound effects.

I enjoy Hooked On Polkas and The Alternative Polka both equally.

Polkamon, to me, is a bit harder to memorize when you don't know a thing about Pokemon.

I have the same problem. I pride myself on having most of Al's songs memorized, but I can't get a grasp on "Polkamon" (and I'm still working on "Alberquerque"). I like "Polkamon" quite a bit though. . .it's a lot of fun!

As for my all-time favorite, I'm gonna go against the grain here and choose "Polkas on 45". The problem with the other polkas (although I love them all so) is that most of the songs were big then but forgotten now. PO45 includes a lot of timeless, classic rock songs (everything from The Who to Hendrix to the Beatles). I just dig that. And I love the accordion solo after "Are we not men? D-E-V-OOOOOOOO!!!!"

After that, "Bohemian Polka" is a close second.

I'm a newbie Al fan. When I heard about the polkas, I was like, "Polkas??" Didn't sound promising. Then I was looking up Al lyrics and discovered what they are, and became more interested. Now I've heard a couple, I love them! (It seems like the higher the bpm - it has to be pop or pop-like though, I don't like techno - the more I like something.) Am loving the HEY!s.

I've only heard the Alternative Polka and Polka Power! and I think I like the Alternative Polka better. I don't know why. Perhaps partly 'cos it evokes nicer memories. Might have something to do with the fact that it sounds better (to me, of course).

Can you imagine people dancing to an Al polka? Have you tried dancing to an Al polka?

Yep, of course. I've even gotten a couple of IRL friends dancing along. Then tripping over each other came afterwards.

Am loving the HEY!s.

Yeah... the HEY!s are the best part of any Polka Medley. I was glad when someone posted that they liked them, cuz I thought maybe I was nuts.

Yeah, I love it when a crazed, accordion playing comic and his sidekicks shout random HEY!s to a bouncy polka beat.

How does Bermuda keep the beat so consistent and so fast?? For you drummer types in the audience, is that as hard to do as it sounds? I know Bermuda says the Polkas are easy, but then he's pretty modest.

My favorite polka is Polka Party!
