I know...there's been good points on either side. But I worked too long on my speech to be swayed :P

I'm still convinced Al did the right thing. Time was short and he has a reputation for being courteous.
This means something. This is important.

Yes, even if that meant delaying the album until the middle or end of the 2003 summer tour. (Yes, I just said that, don't act so surprised.) I don't think any of the other tracks are strong enough for a video, so he'd need to write another strong song and do a video for that. The tour could still go on, with the same setlist, as everything was already recorded. Plus how cool would that be -- a tour with most of the songs "concert-only"!!
Had that happened, the album release would inevitably have been delayed. However, and I may be in the minority here, I could live without the mediocre "Trash Day" (and Al certainly could have done better), but what's done is done. Still, a mostly concert-only setlist would be cool.

Also, when you said 'other tracks', did you mean other parodies? While I can't imagine the other parodies (with the possible exception of ACS--I believe that Al should have done a proper video for PH, and that would be the most likely choice as a second video under this plan) having good videos, one for P@TLC might have been interesting.

I love Trash Day. It's one of the funniest songs on the album :(

I like Trash Day, too. I'm glad Al recorded it. I would not have liked it if he had scrapped that song, despite the opinions of two people who don't like it.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

In my opinion. It would be dumb to get rid of a perfectly good song, just because he couldn't do a video. I like Trash Day, I don't think its a bad song. And what song was there for him parody to replace it? To me it would be extra work for Al.

Unless, of course, Al replaced Trash Day with Livin' La Vida Mocha, then I wouldn't mine. I'd give him a BIG hug. :D :P

Sorry, but I'm still sour about that song being a hoax. <_<

Personally, I liked the idea of Livin' La Vida Polka.

It's a good thing it isn't on there. You think Poodle Hat's sales are low now? Coffee stunts your growth! :P

Everyone knows that Al could have done a parody without permission. He asks, not just out of courtesy, but to be true to himself and his own sense of right and wrong. I applaud him for that. He's a man of integrity and it's one of the main things I admire about him.
