It's Steve who they said was going to play clarinet, not Jim. And they said he was going to play some cool jazz! Yeah!
Patti
I was totally joking about that being a clarinet case, and Steve doesn't play any wind instruments that we know of. Horn playing on Al's albums has always been handled by a select handful of pros.

Ah, ok. Thanks, Jon. But I thought he played recorder.*As do I, along with the flute, fife and ocarina*

Oh yeah, the recorder. Only for concert though, never in the studio. I recall now that he also plays flute. Again, never in the studio with Al, and it's been maybe 15 years since I've seen him with one.
So sometimes my captions may be unwittingly plausible, but in this case, he's not playing any wind instruments on this album.

Is there going to be any wind instruments on the AL-bum?
A few of the originals have horns, yeah.

Bermuda do you have any info on the re-release of The Videos. Since they are taking pre-orders over at amazon.com, it can hardly be a secret. Do you know, or can you say, if there are any changes from the first release? Any bells and whistles?
I can't wait for my copy!! Woo Hoo!!

There was a planned re-issue of the collection, I don't think it's happening as quickly as everyone thinks. That's why nothing is posted on Al's site. Maybe best to see if Ask Al comes back and Al can give whatever details he wishes.
This is exactly why fans should rely on weirdal.com, not Amazon.com! Trust me, if there was an impending re-release of a video like that, it would be high up on the Latest News page.

Gee, they already have my money :lookround: Oh well. Whenever it's ready...
Reading between the lines... so I may be way off base here. But if it was just a straight re-release, why wouldn't it be a fairly quick project? For it to be delayed must mean that they are doing something to it. Or at least that's what my hopeful little brain chooses to believe.
Thanks, Jon.
I just re-read Bermuda's post... Ask Al may come back?? I sure hope so! Now, where's that list of questions??

Nothing special was being done, there was just a snag that prevented the collection from coming out whole. I don't know if/when it will be sorted out, as of a few weeks ago, it was still in limbo.

Gee, I'm surprised no one here jumped all over this yet...
The TV appearances web page has been updated to include The Simpsons, recording dates now includes "The Ballad Of Homer & Marge" recording date (10/29/02), and the latest news page has been updated to put The Simpsons appearance in the past tense.

Hmm, now it's gone.
