Yeah, well I guess the genius comedy shows are seen as "renegades", as they don't follow the conventional style. Also, they tend to gather cult followings (though The Simpsons is still very popular) rather than super high ratings, which is unfair. If a certain someone could get paid $20 million a year *cough*A-Rod*cough*, I'm sure Sci-Fi could've paid $1 million a year to a whole show (not that Sci-Fi pays that certain someone's contract, but you get the idea).
But I believe the president of Sci-Fi (who came in around '99) had it out for all the shows deemed "worthless", such as MST3K. After surfing the net, I saw she had actually cut most of the beloved sci-fi shows to replace them with non sci-fi ones.
Those corporate execs with naked ambitions... GET SOME CLOTHES!
