Yeah, well I guess the genius comedy shows are seen as "renegades", as they don't follow the conventional style. Also, they tend to gather cult followings (though The Simpsons is still very popular) rather than super high ratings, which is unfair. MST3K's production budget was $1 million a year, and it attracted a very strong following.

If a certain someone could get paid $20 million a year *cough*A-Rod*cough*, I'm sure Sci-Fi could've paid $1 million a year to a whole show (not that Sci-Fi pays that certain someone's contract, but you get the idea).

But I believe the president of Sci-Fi (who came in around '99) had it out for all the shows deemed "worthless", such as MST3K. After surfing the net, I saw she had actually cut most of the beloved sci-fi shows to replace them with non sci-fi ones.

Ugh, God I can't stand Nickelodeon! Their sketch comedy shows are RETARDED!! "All That" was poorly written and produced to begin with and the Amanda Show is just PLAIN STUPID! Amanda Bynes needs to get a REAL JOB like a NORMAL teenager... "Welcome to Good Burger, home of the Good Burger. Can I take your order?" "Amanda Please!" ...Who the heck is Penelope Tate anyway?! Amanda Bynes' No. 1 Fan?!

Mad Genius: (Imitates Penelope Tate) I'm MAD GENIUS, "Weird Al" Yankovic's NUMBER ONE FAN please! I MUST SEE Al Please! I have my own "Weird Al" Yankovic Website please... Here's a pic of Al's used wad of spearmint chewing gum I found in Al's hotel while touring the Mississippi.

Shows like that ruin people's intelligence entirely. And while we're on the subject, who the heck greenlights this stuff anyway? Just because Family Guy, Sifl & Olly, Mystery Science Theatre 3000, and don't forget the short lived "Weird Al Show" are different than what's on TV doesn't make them bad. Infact, these shows are probably BETTER than what's on Cable TV. You know, I'd like to see a Cable TV station that runs nothing BUT intelligent comedies that were canned one time or another.

We'd call it Genius TV, home of Genius Television. Simple, yet sophisticated.

Remember when this topic was about some commercial that had Al in it? Yeah, that was great.

Um, yeah, even though I'm not quite sure what he said, it was on topic! I didn't watch the Commies because of that ad. I got the impression that since he wasn't getting one, accordion to the ad, Al wouldn't be there, so, no Commies for me.

Patti

and I used the word accordion on purpose, ok? :P
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

Hey everyone Nickelodean is one of my favorite channels. All That isn't good anymore but I an usually not watching tv at 9:00 anymore I usually go to my best friends haouse of or something but most of the shows are really good. All grown up...spongebob.....Fairly Odd parents.
So what if SNL has seen better days everything will eventually have a weak point and then get back up. The only part of Mad tv i like is the Stewart part and when the lady goes huh huh huh huh. But commedy centralput that on during the time that SNL was on. Curse you Mad tv

Yeah, I agree. I used to be an avid fan of mad TV when Will Sasso was on it, ever since he left I think it's gone downhill.
