The weakest ones to me are the ones Al had least to do with (George of the Jungle).

As for unpleasant, I just hit the skip button on "I'm So Sick of You" and resolve never to let myself wind up on the wrong side of anybody with a real gift for words.

I'm not too crazy about "I Was Only Kidding" either. I mean, isn't a comic song supposed to have some exaggeration or something like that in it? :dontgetit:

I can't stand Spam (no pun intended) or Mr Popeil.

Hmmm. So Sick Of You is one of my faves. It is a perfect compliment to OMM. And Bermuda does a great job drumming in that song. Not that he doesn't always. But it is a strong drum driven song. Go Jon!

Well, maybe eventually I'll get to the point of actually being able to notice the music. A whole song's-worth of insult humor just doesn't suit my personal taste. And the trouble, of course, is that insult humor written by Al, like all the other kinds he writes, is vivid and memorable. Vivid and memorable is what I'm trying to avoid here.

Ah, but the insults are said with such looooove. In the same vein as OMM, You Don't Love Me Anymore, and Melanie. True, it's sick and twisted, but it is love (in a Weird kind of WAY.)

"Truck Drivin' Song"...I always thought that the repetitive mentioning of Al being in women's accessories and clothes got old after about a minute.

Because all his songs are autobiographical. He drives truck while cross-dressing in his spare time.

Huh? I thought only Albuquerque was a strictly factual autobiographical song! Except for Slime Creatures From Outer Space, of course!

Which reminded me of a quote from the Ask Al Archives:

Why did you write Waffle King? There must be a story behind that.

Boy, you'd think so, wouldn't you? But there isn't. I just wanted to write a song about a guy who becomes incredibly famous for doing something kinda stupid, and then starts taking himself way too seriously. And NO, it's not autobiographical!

Boy, he cracks me up!
