I changed the title of this topic. There have been so many Terrorist attacks since 9/11 and more countries than just America that have been effected.

I'll add my moment of silence for
9/11
Bali
Russia
and any others I have forgotten.

An excellent article in the New York Times recently, about some pointed (and overdue) self-examination in the Muslim press.

Massacre Draws Self-Criticism in Muslim Press

September 9, 2004
By JOHN KIFNER

The brutal school siege in Russia has touched off an unusual round of self-criticism and introspection in the Muslim and Arab world.

I lived in Boston when 9/11 happened and indirectly knew people on the flights that originated from Logan. This is a poem I wrote that day:

Life goes on...
Look away from the television...
The sun still shines
Flowers are still blooming
Leaves still begin to show the first hints of Autumn
Waves still crash upon the shore
The moon still glows
Kites still fly
Birds still sing
The wind still blows
Hearts still love...

Take a walk outside today
No matter what the weather is like where you are
Watch a silly movie
Laugh out loud
Hug someone you love
Feel joy in your heart...

For as long as we can do these things,
We shall not be defeated.

__________

A special heartfelt thanks to those serving in the military as well as those who have served and returned home safely. Prayers to those who gave their lives to defend freedom, and to their families.

May this world someday find peace.
