Maybe another reason for Al's longer delays between albums is the other side projects he seems to have lined up (Books, TV Movies, etc.)

Plus, he did say the music scene is so splintered and fragmented that it gets harder and harder to find a universally recognized song to parody.

Or perhaps he IS all the other comedy acts (the same way Latoya and/or Janet Jackson is/was Michael Jackson) and he is monopolizing the comedy charts. I do remember Mark Douglas wearing a Weird Al costume in one of his Key of Awesome viewer comments videos. It may have been a hint. He may even be the brains behind Late Night Talk Show comedy and be taking over those ratings as well. Al must be stopped! Trying to wedge into cartoons and put poor old Rob Paulsen out of commission... tsk tsk. That would certainly create a 5 year album gap.

I didn't know Conan got rid of it! That's how out of the loop I've become. I have watched quite a bit of Craig Ferguson in the last couple months though (not so much the last 3 weeks though.)

Yeah I follow Conan on Twitter and he had been talking about that 3 days before it was going to happen.

And on his show a few weeks ago since it was not on all last week. Will would cut in and talk all crazy about wanting to shave it off.

Al's been holding a serious death-grip on No. 3 on the iTunes comedy chart.

Finally bought it off iTunes... I've been waiting to help boost the chart, rather than buying it the first day. Before that, I was just listening to it on the YouTube video over and over. Haha.

Is it weird that my favorite part, vocally, is the harmony line on "if I go nude today"... Not because of the actual words, though, I swear. I just love his vocal quality on that line. Gotta love a nice clean tenor sound!
