I think I'm ready to move on to all of my songs on my iPod and to stop listening to this song only.

Ok, with White and Nerdy, I found a line in the song that relfected my real life strongly. The Renaissance Fair line. Whatever You Like strikes even closer to home.
Cut your hair with scissors and a soup bowl. Dad cut my hair, although I believe I trimmed my own bangs prior to school picture day. I was 6 years old here:
You can see the picture is cracked. I did a little cosmetic surgery to cover up a major crack across my face, so if it looks like a scar across my face, it's not.
Anyway, yeah. Pixie haircuts were my Dad's specialty. Gee, thanks, Dad.

I think you should have been more concerned with that outfit they made you wear.

Here's a fairly long and thoughtful post on both WYL and the iTunes marketing strategy... and it mentions WOWAY.

Great article, though it fails to mention the handsome moderator who let that topic stand

Haha, yes, we get a mention because of our frustration and lack of sleep!

That's a pretty cool article. It's great to hear WOWAY mentioned in the news.

Thanks for that link, OE! It's a nice article, but unfortunately I agree with the author, primarily:
Yankovic is almost as famous because of his videos (which include more jokes and sight gags) than the songs themselves. White & Nerdy did not become a smash hit until its video was released; even when the song had fallen off the top of iTuness singles chart, the video remained at #1 much longer.
I think a good video is still a huge deal. "Like a Surgeon" would not be nearly as funny without Al writhing around sending up Madonna. I think his best songs, such as "Eat It" and "The Saga Begins", are brilliant on their own without a video, and the video only makes it that much more fun. But when the song you're sending up doesn't have that kind of musical class behind it, it's hard for funny lyrics on their own to redeem the song.
"Ebay" is a fine example; obviously the tune (all the harmonies) really work to make the song popular without an official video. But for many songs, I see the YouTube comments complaining, "Where's the official video?" or "This video is lame!"
