Ok I like the performance. It was a good Elvis routine. The way for anyone to like me here is to agree. So I agree the performance was great. :)

Ditto.
He might feel the wackiness in public is expected of him, and it probably is expected by his younger fans.

I've suspected at a couple of those recent, extremely wacky red/green photo ops (question: do red/green photo ops get shown on the Red Green Show?) that Al might have been trying to keep the cameras on himself-- so the photographers wouldn't pester Suzanne.

Um, Manda you did see my edited version right? So you're not mad at me?

And actually for EVERYONE to like you that's what you'd have to do. But who cares if some people don't accept your opinions? I personally don't care if someone hates me. That's THEIR opinion. :D

It's not supposed to be like Elvis. Although the gyrating could give that impression. It's more like Prince or Beck, like I said. Being like Elvis. That's OMM's job.

I was referring to the gyrating. I dont mind a little of it, I admitt. But on this performance he did too much.

I think EVERYONE does at least a little Elvis. He kind of set the rules for Pop As We Know It.

For the record, I do not ever want to see Al naked. That would be... inappropriate.

I love the WBUL routine because he's taking that bump-and-grind onstage sexiness to a whole new ridiculous place. The exaggerated movements, the grimaces, the loopy 70's ladykiller white suit he wears in concert-- he's putting an absurd spotlight both on the sexy-singer schtick *cough*prince*cough* and on the immaturity and crassitude of going "fishing" for women with pickup lines. Is crassitude a word? If it isn't, it should be. Anyway, I think WBUL is a very family-values-friendly song at its heart.
