I only watched a couple of the video parts on youtube...what part is it from exactly? Or is it just a play on the tone throughout?

I took it as being a play on the tone of TitC, and not just one specific part.

But then again, I haven't heard/seen TitC in a while.

I found it funny too. Plus the fact that then Al gets into about this guy he knew named Paul. Very funny. A genius song, I still am amazed that he has enough lyrics for almost 11 minutes of music. Was the original that long?

The original was in 12 parts... I think like 3 minutes averaged? Something around that area... I think all 12 parts added up to 45 minutes... Somewhere around that area.

Remember how there was a large contingency of people here who hadn't heard Dick's Automotive and were shocked to hear the similarities?
People, this is a Weird Al forum. If you want to be sure you "get" all the jokes, it is pretty imperative to be familiar with the original material. I highly recommend that you take a listen to at least the first five chapters of Trapped In The Closet. All of them can be found on YouTube and it makes Al's parody WAYYYYY funnier.

Jon is absolutely right. I listened to the first five chapters of the original before the album came out, and it really enhances the experience. Trust me, if you think this song is funny and you haven't heard "Trapped in the Closet", it will become about 100,000 times more funny once you've listened to the original. That goes for any of Al's parodies, but this one is especially important. You really need to understand the whole structure of R. Kelly's song in order to realize why this is such a brilliant parody.
