So now Al has connected himself with that movie as well.
Furthermore, Ne-Yo's movie is about a steppin'/stomping dance (presumably a song by Ne-Yo himself). This made me instantly think of Weasel Stomping Day. Of course, one problem is that it seems WSD will be an animated original. Another problem is that Ne-Yo's movie/song won't be released until January, so I don't see how Al could parody it. Hmm...
Okay, so Ne-Yo has a loose connection with the movie 'Step Up'. Why do we care about that?In January, the singer will make his big-screen debut in "Stomp the Yard," formerly titled "Steppin' " but changed so it wouldn't be confused with the just-released dance movie "Step Up."
"It's based on the black fraternities in the Atlanta colleges, and there's a type of dance called steppin'," Ne-Yo explained. "It's not R. Kelly's 'Step in the Name of Love' steppin'. It's a lot more energy, where you make the rhythm and the beat of the song with your hands and your feet, so it's a lot of stomping and clapping and chanting. I guarantee it's going to be one of those films you're gonna walk out of the theater trying to do some of the moves to honor it."
