I also feel the new booking agent has a lot to do with the venues that have been cropping up. I'm sure they have contacts the previous company dont have (and vice versa) West Wendover is an oddity.. little more than a hamlet with very few people and something like seven casinos...Presumably Helen is quite right that they exist on people who want to do things they cant do in Utah.. Seems dodgy to me, but I guess their money is as green as the next guys. Seems like an awesome place to drive to. Wish I could go. Personal feeling is that Al needs to keep moving forward and playing new material if he wants to remain relevant. Besides, I think his newer material is far superior personally, but I know that's an unpopular view here

I also agree with that Ludo. As much as I would LOVE to see more classic, older songs played, it's not going to happen. The new songs are what drive business, and you always have to adapt and change with the times to stay current. That is why Al's audience is so diverse. He gives the older fans what they want, and actually more than enough, with all of the old food parodies in the medley, and the classic songs at the climax of the concert. Perfect balance.

The new songs are what drives business? Since when? Can you imagine going to a Journey show where they play the entire new album? Or a KISS show where Gene Simmons tells the crowd he's not playing anything recorded before 1990? People would riot, it'd go over like a lead balloon. People WANT to see the classics, they don't mind some new stuff, but I sincerely think if Al's setlist was heavier on classics, there'd be a far greater demand for his shows.

Al is different than Journey though. Remember every time he releases an album he is discovered by a whole new group of fans. I will give you there are many of us hardcores who want to see the older stuff, but there are just as many who only know the new album. We have an awesome medley right now, we should be happy about that. How many kids know "I Want a New Drug" or "Money For Nothing"

Probably more than you'd think, retro is pretty hip now. I would argue that there's probably more people attending Al's shows that are longtime fans than ones that only know the current stuff, and I would also argue that there's probably a lot of longtime or older Al fans that don't attend his shows because they don't want to hear so much modern stuff.

Keep in mind that poking fun at current pop music songs, artists, and pop culture is what drives Al's career. Each new album parodies recent pop hits and memes, and so his concerts should reflect that, too.

Well that's fine and dandy for his albums and media appearances, but I still think he'd get a lot more milage out of doing a nostolgia act tour. Given whats currently going on between Al and Sony, it might be a loooooong wait in between albums this time around, so next summer or the year after would be perfect.

I don't think the lawsuit is going to directly affect the speed for album 14.

Al said that it was just business and that he doesn't plan on leaving them any time soon. As a whole, Al seems to be trying to get this album off the ground faster than Alpocalypse, so I don't see a terrible wait this time around. I'd be all for more nostalgia in the show, but if Al's speed this time around is any indication, he might not have to hit the road before the next album drops. I highly doubt he'll be back in 2013 though. He'll definitely take a break.

I agree. He has toured during 2010, 2011, and 2012. I'm expecting that he'll take a break from touring in 2013. That was part of my decision to take my kids to the concert in Lowell, MA, even though it was on a school night. I figured he might not be back for a couple years.

Remember that al dropped his previous booker because they dealt in nostalgia acts.
