Hey all,
I'm really trying hard to get to this show. I didn't have the money to get tickets before, but am trying now. I'm wondering if anyone can help me with a ride. I live in Bayonne, NJ. If you can help me (it would be just me) could you please email me at rachaelmay AT gmail DOT com. Thanks so much!!
Just to clarify, all I'm asking for is a ride. I'll find a ticket. Thanks
Rachael
I don't know if they have been sending out emails or not... I'm hoping they haven't and they have just been shipping them out without notifying people. I'm sure we will get there early so it's nice to know there's stuff around, thanks for the heads up.
We've got the tickets for all the other east coast shows, this is the only one we are being held up on.
I got an email that tickets will probably have to be sent to will call because there is a hold up somewhere. I have to go to will call anyway before the show to pick up something else.
As an aside, I'm one of the "older" fans. (That means I bought Al's first album on vinyl the day it came out.

) Although I'm not one of the "crazy" fans, I've been to many shows. Mostly here in NJ. That is me in the picture next to Al in my avatar, so feel free to say "hi" and introduce yourself (from this forum) if you see me at the show. I'm bringing a co-worker who's a big Al fan but has never been to a show. (It's so hard finding people who want to go to an Al concert!) He'll be the tall and skinny one, I'll be the tall and not-so-skinny one.
Hey, let's have some bizarre fun! If anyone from here does spot me at the show and wants to say "hi", my co-worker is Dave. It would freak him out (in a funny way) if unknown people know his name. So it would be hilarious if random people came up and said 'Hi Bill, I'm from the Weird Al forum - my name is (your name)...." and then say "Hey Dave, how are ya?!"
I'll pretend not to know anything.

I'm going to try to get Bermuda and maybe Al to "magically" know his name for the aftershow gathering. It'll be a "first" show he'll never forget.
-Bill

Hmm I haven't gotten an email yet. Guess I'll give them a call tomorrow if they aren't closed. Thanks for the info.
I'm the guy on the left in my avatar, wish I could say I bought his first album on the day of release. Say high if you see me there.

Looks like the show has been moved to the Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park, everybody.

Changed the topic title for now, but I wanted to leave the Holmdel info for now so people would know what's going on.

That... sucks.
The Paramount is a pretty crappy theater. Especially compared to PNC. And it's another 1/2 hour farther away. If they were gonna move it, they should have moved it to Red Bank. A lot closer to Holmdel, a nicer theater, and a much nicer neighborhood.
Kind of bummed about this. My mom and her friend are going. They were at PNC last tour and loved it there. My cousin is coming too. It's his first show, so he won't know or care, but still, meh. Just talked to him a few hours ago and he's really really really excited. I just hope PAID gives us really good tickets after all this.
I didn't get an email or phone call or anything. I wonder how many people go to the wrong place. It's not like at the Sovereign Center where it was just moved two blocks over. It's a pretty decent drive to Asbury Park. And on a Sunday night with shore traffic on the Parkway. Ugh. The least they can do is bump the start time an hour later or something to allow for those who go to PNC to get there on time.

This isn't the same venue as the RWS Asbury Park show, is it? I think that was hte Convention Center (or it was at the time)

Alternative opinion to Dave:
You guys should be thrilled that this was moved. While PNC is an OK venue, it's your typical amphitheater. Seeing Al in the Paramount in Asbury is going to be a much more intimate experience, AND it's acoustically far superior to PNC!
Here's a pic:

It's a gourgeous old time theater, not a bad seat in the house.....
The paramount is part of the convention hall complex but not the same as convention hall......
Not only that - but you can check out the boardwalk before the show and all Asbury has to offer. It's a lot better than PNC where there's nothing around (typical concert venue setup with parking lot and once you're parked either tailgate or go in and eat crappy arena food). SO many good places within walking distance. Asbury is on the rise again. Check out:

Enjoy!

Rob,
Thanks for the comments. I've seen Al at both places. I like PNC better, but to each his own. I'm still going planning to have a AWESOME time. Al doesn't disappoint.
