The "word on the street" here in Austin has Al and/or Jay attending the after-party, so you folks in the ATX should either get tickets to the Paramount or figure a way into the party. I can't really see Al hanging out for very long, but I could be wrong(it's happened before *SHOCK!*) The Highball is way-cool place to hang out even if no one "special" shows up. I'll be in the sixth row on the left side looking like a complete cornball, as I think I'll go in some sort of costume.

Al went to the Rifftrax after-party, so the chances could be pretty darn decent for his making this after-party.

From what I've seen, if Al goes to a thing like this and starts signing autographs, he won't bag out until he's taken care of the meet & greet line, barring exigent circumstances.

Yeah I once heard Suzanne jokingly complain about this habit of Al's...

They should invite David Bowe. He's the only one in the cast who's actually seen the movie in the last 20 years.

At places like Westbury and other places where they shield the line from Al and bring the peeps in small groups at a time, I try to get in one of the last groups, and then tell Al the line is reeeeeeeeeeaaaaallly long and he'll be there for a few more hours at least. He falls for it every time.

 Dave!

As Wizzerkat already said, Al did attend the Rifftrax after party, which was held at a brewery/restaurant. He made it almost to the end of the line before he had to leave.

Even though Jay Levey said "It's all a blur" more than once during the AL FEST panel, I thought he did a great job with the comments and stories he had to tell compared to the VERY little he had to contribute on the UHF dvd commentary. I worried about that beforehand, but really, he did very well.

This is going to be great--you guys and gals have fun!

Well, the one person in my household that is bummed that she has never met Al in person is 14 years old. So, the possibility (?) of him attending the After Party, is still not going to work for her. And, if I go to the After Party and he does show, she will kill me. But, at any rate, it should be a very fun day for all of us at the shows!

My tickets for this just came in the mail!

haha, "TWINKIE WIENER SANDWICHES 4EVR." The tickets also says "UHF + An Evening With Weird Al," so I guess it's safe to assume he'll be at the after-party... but it could just be referring to the events at the theatre.

I don't believe that it's ever safe to assume anything, so...

Previously, I've read on the Board of how greatly crushed someone was because they didn't get to meet Al after one of his shows and then at the same time, how someone's life was transformed(?) because they did get to meet him. Or worse yet, how some people gloat over the fact that they have met him so many times already, which just makes some of us feel like we aren't good enough to meet him, ever. And in all this fixation over meeting him and not meeting him, we kind of lose sight of the fun in going to a show and relishing the experience of watching, listening and enjoying, and not expecting something afterwards.
Sometimes, stuff happens.

Oh, dear. Gloating should not be. Giddy happiness, yes, gloating no. One of the lovely things about Weird Al is that you CAN meet him without having special connections, backstage passes, or enough bucks for charity auctions, etc. He does enough passless meet & greets that eventually, if it really matters to you and your concerts are at the right kind of venue (not too huge, not too far to the next concert and security not too paranoid) the odds will be in your favor. And he's just as gracious when interacting with the first-timers as he is with the really familiar faces.
