How You First Discovered Al....

I should also say...after my first two albums, I went out to buy EW and BHD at the same time.

Then, later that year, Al came out here in October 15th, 2000 for a concert. Naturally, going to a show changes anyone's life as it did mine.

Wow. I can't believe it's been 3 years since my first show.

and to think that my first concert ever was just last year. I remember it well... a warm autumn evening-- I mean summer...

I was first exposed to Al when I was very young, maybe 6 or 7. They had this Disney special called D TV, or Dog TV. They had all these songs set to music videos from all the stock footage from Disney cartoons. They played Eat It, I knew that It was supposed to be Beat It, but I didn't think much about it. Until a friend of mine a few years later told be about Weird Al. I loved music, and I loved comedy; what a better way than to combine them to make it better. I got my first ALbum when I was 11. It was In-3D. It was a great experience to learn my first ALbum. I was hooked. A few years later, I went to my first concert. It was a life ALtering experience. Now, today, I am a loyal AL fan. No one will change that.

I became a fan when my friend asked to download a few songs off kazaa onto my pc when he came over my dad`s place.I said sure and he download AP and Gump.He put the headphones on my ears for AP ,i don`t remember listening to it very much but I soon wanted to here more

and the rest became history....since he changed my life through this can we consider him a excuse from hooliganism? :dontgetit:

I don't remember how I became a fan. I'm 33 now and my first album was In 3D about the time it came out. I don't how I got it, who gave it to me but I listened to it for hours! Nature Trail to Hell is still one of my favorites! I do kinda-sorta remember buying Dare to Be Stupid myself at the Wherehouse. It's a horrible thing to get old. You hit 30 and the memory just starts to go...

Oh yeah! Before the concert, I had a life outside of al-fandom, but afterwards........................ Weird Al is my life!

Ooh, it's a long one. Well, it began back around in 1997-98. My dad always recited lyrics to 'Theme to Rocky XIII' ("try the rye or the kiser...") and I asked him, "where did you hear that song?" Well, he told me this guy named "Weird Al" Yankovic (we pronounced it "Yankovich" at the time...) had done the song and so forth. Since I wasn't really into music then, I didn't care. Then one day, he brought home the 'Food Album.' He left it there, probably hoping I would listen to it. Well, several months and months later, I finally did listen to it, and loved it! So I started listening to 'Fat', 'Eat It', 'I Love Rocky Road', etc. But being the uninformed fool I am, I didn't even know he STILL made songs. That's until my friend Chris introduced me to 'Amish Paradise', and then I knew: I must hear more!

The internet connection I was using one day became slow and I couldn't use forums. So i decided to trawl through the files on the computer I am using now. Eventually, I dug out a couple of music videos by Al - "Eat It" and "Smells like Nirvana". I watched them both and found them amusing. Since then I've constantly been on the lookout for more Al stuff.
