Hi All,
Does it ever happen that people get together for Yankafests? You know, regional low key get togethers to enjoy all things Yankovic. We need something to help us through to the next tour. What better than us getting together to enjoy each others company, discussing all things Al, watching Al videos and being out in beautiful NH.
We have 50 wooded acres with streams that cascade over boulders, good stuff. If we offer to host this type of gathering would anyone be interested? We are in south central NH about an hour north of Mass.
What do you folks think?
Cindy

I would be interested in going to that, Cindy! It sounds like you live close by...
There have been a few fan conventions in the past called "Alcon," which were held in Illinois, I think. That's too far for me! I hear Al and Bermuda appeared at one or two of them, though.
So far, I haven't met any fellow WOWAY members, so it sounds like a good idea to me.
EDIT: I take that back. Actually, I did meet Elvis, Dr. Steggy, and Bermuda at a concert last year, but that was before I ever heard of the WOWAY forum.

Good morning,
I'm glad you like the idea! Now the problem is finding more Al fans within driving distance and to see if they would be interested. Actually, people could throw up a tent if it was too far and they did not want to drive back that night. We have a small field, used to be pasture, behind the house. It is slowly being taken over by moss and low blueberries. I mow around the blueberries, too tasty to mow.

Professional photos from this concert have been posted here, on the Meadowbrook U.S. Cellular Pavilion's website.
The photos include the first 3 songs, plus everyone that got to meet Al after the show. I noticed that about 1/3 of those who had passes were members of the 501st Legion who had performed on stage that night.

"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

We are going to Meadowbrook again this Saturday to see Boston and Styx. We are bringing our 17 year old son and 2 of his friends. They are predicting T-storms and it is an outside pavillion. Makes me a bit nervous. It will probably be a good show if the storms hold off but I'll tell you, they are no Al Yankovic! No other band I've seen can hold a candle to him or the fans that go to see him. The most fun! AND, we always have great weather for his concerts. It must be magic.
