It was good to see Fred and SG and meeting Vicki and Animator55. I am really sorry I missed Kristine and jerAl. It seemed everyone changed seats when we got there.
I think I would have been happier with the first tickets I bought before the VIPs. We were way over to the side and there were a bunch of equipment boxes on the stage in the way of our view of the screen. I had sold the other tickets to a father and his son.
I was one of the people running to get to the bus. I heard the security person say that he ALWAYS signs things at the bus so it is best to go there, but I wanted to be sure SG could find me since I gave her the picture I took that got on the mothership tour pictures in 2002. It has been my grail to get Al and Jim to sign it and I didn't have the backstage pass that she did.
By sheer luck Jim came out looking for someone and I got his attention when I mentioned his new album and how much I liked it. So he came over and he signed it AND the picture before SG took it backstage

. My goal was half done. SG disappeared with my picture and we waited. My sis-in-law was patient and enjoying the experience of Al fandom. I had given SG my address in case we never saw each other again and then Bonnie gets my attention -"hey, here she comes!" Sure enough SG had gotten it signed! I proclaimed her my favorite person and thanked her much. THANKS AGAIN SG!!!!!
At this point we should have gone to the buses. I honestly don't understand why at that point I stayed there. It has something to do with the "herd" mentality, I'm sure. So the same security person comes out and in her condescending tone said, "well, for all of you who didn't hear my first speel, Al is signing things at the bus." And then evilly said "you better run." It was funny as some backed away slowly and others shot out immediately. Bonnie and I walked quickly then as I got to the corner of the locked building I started to run. "Go, Julie, go" she yelled. I kept hoping someone would come out of the expo building so I could cut through and then someone did. I got to the door just as it was a half inch from latching. I zoomed through and found another set of doors out the back and avoided a security guard coming around a display.
The bus was close at that point and I made it with plenty of time. Then someone said to put a cap on it and at that moment Bonnie and another person came around the corner and he said "those two and that's it." No pictures allowed at this point. Bonnie and I get up to the bus door where Al is sitting. He says to his harmonica holder

, "is there a cap on this?" "Yeah, not many more."
I thanked him for signing the picture that SG had brought because I wasn't sure I would get to see him and I had him sign the back of my VIP laminate. Bonnie told him it was her first concert and enjoyed it very much. I told him to sleep tight -he looked exhausted- and we walked away.
My grail is complete, and I will miss this tour and will anxiously wait for the next. Hope to see you all again!
