I always imagined that as a director, Al had a lot to do with how the videos turned out.
Here is an article about film directors, from filmmakers.com. If you scroll down a bit, there is a definition of what a director does.
After reading that, I guess I was right.

I'm pretty sure they just say "on set" and "cut" a bunch of times. Nothing special.

I liked the video. I watched it from the link Al provided on his myspace. The flipbook idea is very neat. I also think the Guitar Hero bit matched with the song. Very nice.

I don't agree, Bob. Of course, you're known for being a smartass, so I'll take what you said with a grain of salt. I remember when the Rockin' the Suburbs video came out. Ben had some footage fron the shoot linked to his site. Al was very involved with the video process, as I'm sure he was with this video.

The directors come up with the whole premise of the video. Pretty much everything you saw came out of Al's brain. Not saying the artist doesnt have input, but the reason they hire directors is to do the concept. If the artist was gonna do it themself, they would direct as well.

Um, that link takes you to the PUSA YouTube page. Al does have it on his, too, though.
Love it!!
