I might be crazy but I hear a bit of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra in this.

And that's all I'll say for fear of spoilering. XP

I just looked at some of Al's top friends. I'm pretty sure this is a "The Tubes" style parody. There's a lot of weird Devo 80's vibes to this.
The Tubes were a bit more straight forward rock than Virus Alert is.

Well this is just a wild guess since I haven't heard the song but could it possibly be a Rush style parody?

I havent heard the song, but The Tubes sounded a lot more crazy back in the seventies then their eighties 'She's a Beauty" stage. I just got into them a month or so ago.

It's true they were more wildy-rock, but this is more synthy and quirky than The Tubes. If you go to their MySpace and listen to "White Punks on Dope" it gives a great idea of what their earlier stuff sounded like.

Also, this is the farthest thing from a Rush style parody possible.

It also sort of reminded me of earlier Oingo Boingo at their most operatic. I get the feeling it's not a specific style parody though, just something straight from Al.

This song sounds like a "Dare To Be Stupid" outtake. It just has that 80's Al feel to it.

I actually really like this song. It made me laugh immediately (instead of just having one line throughout the whole song that makes me laugh), and it has a good melody. Its true...I cant quite put my finger on what this is a style parody of, but its quite familiar.
