I split out the dates and made it a sticky. This was if someone wants a quick summary of what's going on, they can check that topic. Contine to post important dates here and Anth or I will keep that topic up to date. Thanks.

Berm and Al are really tight, so he's probably doing Al a favor by keeping it a secret, which I think is a smart move. Keep the fans in suspence and patiently wait until "Weird Al" Yankovic #12 to be released at record stores nationwide.

Not much news, but Bermuda has posted on the website that recording for the originals has finished. Just thought someone would like to post that on the timeline. I think the news was posted yesterday (08/14/05).

Is it possible that they recorded the 5 parodies and polka? Just to confuse us? Then they might be done quicker than we think. They always record the originals first. Why not change it now?

I would actually argue "Why change it now?" It's a winning formula that's worked for 11 albums so far--there's no reason for him to change it.

But then we get it sooner. See, if he recorded the non-originals, and we thought that he recorded his originals, we would think it would take about another year, even though it might only take a few months. We don't have to wait as long. :D

EDIT: Didn't see weirdalfan95's post. You have a point. But don't things stay popular for a couple months sometimes? (Or in Al's case, about 26 years. :D)

Yeah, he usually waits to record the polkas so that all the songs included in the polka can be current (*cough*Bawitdaba*cough*). :P

On G4's Attack of the Show, Al pubicly confirms the first 6 songs are done, and says that he has started at least some work on the next phase of the album.

If I had gotten through, that's what I would have asked him; How the progress on the next album is coming along. I called several times and it rang twice, but no answer. :/ Oh well.
