I live in LA and I'm a working actor and extra. I've met a lot of famous people and have worked with them. I know a lot of you are sore that you can't be a part of this because of age or location. But the way I see it, Al is going to be around for a long time and thanks to things like myspace, the fans will get the heads up for these types of opportunities before casting agencies in LA do. (Thank the gods) So look on the bright side, by the time the next album comes out, most of you might be able to be in a video, or maybe even the album cover itself. Remember Poodle Hat? Some of the people there were hired from a casting agency in LA. So maybe next time Al does a cover with a lot of people on it he will go to myspace or the forums first. Also when it comes to extra work, it's a really tight deal on the set. To be an extra in a Weird Al video doesn't necessarily mean you will get to meet him or even see him. Do to the fact that Al directs all of his videos, he will most likely be there. But there's also a thing called second unit. So for all we know, the extras may be used for B roll or second unit which means there will be another director. And even if it isn't second unit. Extras are normally directed by the assistant director, not the director himself. Point is, Being an extra in a music video is probably no different than just being at a Weird Al concert. I've been an extra in several music videos and most of the time never got to meet the artists. It's mostly just a bunch of standing around and waiting. It's not a big party where you get to hang out with Al. Not to say that I'm not thrilled to be a part of it but my thrill is mostly for the fact that I can put it on my resume and say that I was a part of it rather than getting my hopes up that I will get to meet or talk to Al which will probably not happen. Remember "All about the Pentiums"? That was a big concert scene. I'm actually to tell you the truth more excited about this weekend because Idle Hands is playing at my favorite bar in town and it's a small place so I can actually meet Bermuda and possibly have a conversation with him. I'm not trying to brag or toot my own horn, I'm just trying to let all of you disappointed Al fans out there know that you really won't be missing much. I say save your money and get front row seats at his next concert. You will most likely be a lot closer to him than any extras in this music video will.

ages of 18 to 24? I think that's a big clue. That's college aged kids. Perhaps this is going to be a bit autobiographical and Al's going to include scenes of what it was like to be a white and nerdy 16yo going to college with a bunch of 18 to 24yos.Kevbo1987 @ Aug 16 2006, 04:40 PM wrote: There doesn't seem to be much in the realm of clues. The blog entry doesn't really give us anything except for the knowledge that Al will be shooting a video starting on Monday!I guess the only other possible clue that I'm getting is that there is a need for extras who are between the ages of 18 and 24. I don't really think that tells us much, though.

Unfortunately, I haven't heard anything from Al or the company yet. I also sent them my resume just in case they were looking for production assistants instead (I am a film major looking for internships...)
Cross your fingers, I would be elated to be in this video...
