I didn't really think the main interview, was TOO bad. I hated them, though, when they said they wish the would have got Al to break down and cry. I figure, Al did expect it, and he handled it extremely well, in the interview. Also, I don't really think it was the main interviewer's drive, that did that, just his evil, evil co-workers in the background. Especially, that one guy. Definitely, not one of the best Al interviews.
Also, I've wondered if we all hate this interview so much, Why is it in the topic that is honoring Nick and Mary? Shouldn't this be made into a topic, by itself. So, if we want to go through remembering them, we won't have this awful thought, hanging here, ending our honoring. I think everything, after the break that this topic took for awhile, should either be moved, or just deleted in general. Al decided to move on after his parents death, so we should just support him in that, and not linger in stupid media people's life. Maybe move this into Hangin' 27. I don't know, just a thought, to maybe clear up this thread a lil bit.
That interview was just so typical of morning people. Actually, believe it or not, I've heard worse. It just hurts me that they were that unkind to Al. Morning shows...

I really don't think this topic should be deleted. I do agree we don't have to remenber that interview. But this topic is good to remenber them and discuss his parents. Maybe the parts were we discussed the interview can be moved.
I also agree that Al is slowing moving on. But its slow and he probably won't be totally over it. But fans might move on and if so this topic can fade into the background. And when want we can bring it back to remenber them.

The downside is that's my webserver. So when you download that, you're downloading right off my computer. Therefore, when my computer is turned off, that link doesn't work. But I only turn my computer off at night anyway.

I didn't think the interview was THAT bad...
Personally, if I was in Al's shoes I would have expected them to atleast mention it. The Notebook analogy was pretty lame, though it didn't seem to me that they were being "evil radio people" or something. The guy tried to come up with an analogy that he thought sounded appropriate, but it came out rather badly. If he would have said "Well, atleast they died together, that's slightly comforting" it would have sounded decently, but the analogy just didn't come out right.
Could have been worse I suppose.

I didn't mean, that this topic should be deleted, I meant that the parts about this horrible interview shouldn't be in this topic. This topic is, was, and always will be honoring to them, and I don't think anything, such as, this interview should attract from that.

Well, this IS the interview topic, and we are DISCUSSING the interview. I think this interview should only be discussed here though. Not in the Nick and Mary topic.

Sorry, folks, I didn't have a chance to record or stream that interview on the 9th of July here in Richmond (which was actually done in Washington DC). Was packing and getting ready to go to the concert in New Jersey, and just didn't get around to it. However, I did listen to the majority of it, and here are some of the highlights ...
I was expecting a fifteen minute interview ... it was actually close to an hour, with the last half hour mainly consisting of phone in questions.
It was a very well done interview (the DJ's stayed away from discussing his parents), and centered around the concert that was going to performed later that evening in DC.
They played several songs, including "Ricky", SNL, "My Bologna" and AORTB.
Weird Al discussed the fact that he is currently working on original material for his next album, but no parodies yet.
Again I apologize for not being able to record it ... it really was an awesome hour or so.
