World of Weird Al Yankovic

In 1999, Volcano reissued all the Scotti Bros. CD's and cassettes. But with it, we didn't get any of the artwork from the albums before OTDE.

Same thing with all the reprints from 1990. I know because I got into Al in 1992 (Smells Like Nirvana blew my mind) and then immediately went and purchased all the cassette tapes I could find (which all said (c) 1990 and the insides were just white) and then I got all the CDs a few years later when I started collecting CDs, which again mostly all said (c) 1990 and the inside sleeves were just white (for the most part).

I wonder if Al will release any new songs by the time this comes out, and if he does, how he'll go about including them. They're not exactly rarities, so the rarities disc wouldn't really be a perfect place.

Maybe the rarities disc will just become a "rarities and new songs" disc, much like UHF is the "soundtrack and other stuff".

I don't think Headline News is particularly "rare" either. Maybe rarities is the wrong way to think about that last disc; it's more of an odds and ends collection of things unavailable anywhere else. I would guess the new song (the idea of which is more or less confirmed on his latest CBB podcast appearance) will be track one of disc 15.

Scott asks Al if he might include a new song on the box set since that's what they usually do is include one new song to promote the set. Then Al knowingly says, "Oh is that what they do???".

Oh I did hear that. I was thinking the idea for the song as opposed to idea of a song

I see the confusion now; what I meant was that Al concedes it would sure make a lot of sense to throw a new song or two onto the 15th disc.

I'm all smiles for a rarities compilation, but adding new songs that're exclusive to this collection would be pretty sweet, considering the occasion.

Has anyone speculated on what's going to be in that fifteenth disc?

It's not really rariries as what the hard-core fan would consider rarities, but more like stuff that's already released but not included on any of the 14 studio albums. The tracks that were mentioned to me were:
