I dunno. She may haven't been as FAMOUS as Al - more on the back burner - but I could still see her gaining traction. If Alfred's audience was teen nerdy boys, I think a teen nerdy woman would make them feel better, too, despite not being able to project themselves onto said person. Like; "Wow! She's nerdy. I'M nerdy! Maybe there are other nerdy girls out there I can talk nerdy things to!".
She may not have had as long as a career - I find women age less gracefully than men, and with arthritis and osteoporosis prevalent within women, she might not be as active onstage in her old age.
Stupid sexist society! Maybe someday, but not the way RadFems are running the third-wave feminist party. Jesus.

Hey let's not get political in here.
Since there really are no female nerds in the music business (as far as I can tell) I think Weird Allison would have broached many different topics in her songs rather than some of the things Al has sang about.

Another thought I had on the issue: If Al was a woman, and found the same amount of success that he has now, how would that have affected the comedy music landscape of today? There are a smurf ton of male-driven comedy music artists out there (Throwing Toasters, Tenacious D, Reggie Watts, The Arrogant Worms...), but only a handful of female comedy musicians (the only two that come to mind right off the bat are Garfunkel and Oates and Rachel Bloom.) Would there be more female comedy musicians out there today if Al was born an Alison?

@Wells: That's what I was thinking! It would also help those nerd girls people don't believe exist.
@Spoony: I still think it would be male-driven, even if she got as famous. Perhaps there would be an extra handful of female comedy singers, but I still think the world would still be testosterone driven. To be honest, I don't know many comedic singers. Al, Tenacious D, Ninja Sex Party, Lonely Island... Ah. That's about it. Then again, I don't listen to a lot of music to begin with. \
I'm still wondering what Wanna B Ur Lovr would be like...

While I'd argue that there are a couple I can think of, they certainly don't have nearly as many songs/lyrics dedicated to nerd culture as Al does. But that does raise the interesting question of what would some of Alison's main topics be. Would she have as many songs about food that Al does?
On that note, Girls Just Wanna Have Lunch would have gone from being a pretty terrible song to being a decent one. We wouldn't get that nasally voice, plus I'm sure they lyrics could be a bit clever from a "girl's" perspective, i.e. enjoying the lunch instead of complaining about it.

I'm sure the pickup lines would be similar to those used near the start of Garfunkel and Oates' "One Night Stand."

S(he) definitely would have done more with Alanis Morissette I think.
what are some artists/songs led by females that you would say Al missed a great opportunity to parody? maybe he wouldn't have if he was a girl. :D

Here's the Garfunkel and Oates song for those who're interested. Heads up, it gets a little explicit, so if you're sensitive/young, be warned yada yada yada.
Sorry BigSpoon... I couldn't get far into that song. I just... didn't like how it sounded, haha.
I did look up the lyrics. I can see some of those jokes, paraphrased, in WBUL!
Kinda dirty song lyrics
