Oh, yeah!!!! :whoot: :inlove:

IMHO,
I only wish that when Al does music like this, they introduce him as Al and not "Weird Al." I mean, that's a part of his concert persona, but not his regular life.

js...

This reminds me of UHF. It was always a bit strange that the opening credits list him as "Weird Al" Yankovic, and the end credits list George as being played by Al Yankovic.

IKR? It just doesn't seem like he's taken seriously when he does serious music!

I saw an interview once (relating to his book, I think) where he talked about this. If I remember correctly, when he's performing or otherwise publicly appearing it's usually "Weird Al", when he does anything else, like writing, directing, producing, it's just "Al Yankovic". (Also, as an aside, just for extra nerd points, when it's just "Weird Al" he always renders it without the quotation marks, only when it's the full "Weird Al Yankovic" does he add them around the "Weird Al" part :online: )

What I love about this Pixies performance is that it's so different from what he usually does. No jokes, funny business, or even cheerfulness. It's a side of him we barely ever get to see and that makes it all the more powerful. Al is such an amazing performer, when he does his own stuff he's pretty much blasting you with cheer every second. And then to see that same intensity tuned and focused through something darker... Just incredible. Every time I watch this performance it leaves me almost literally breathless.
