World of Weird Al Yankovic

Just downloaded the audio off the YouTube vid before it gets deleted. I'm not exactly sure how that person ripped the files off of Amazon's site, but way to go.

Personally, I am really enjoying these five that haven't been released. I think my favorites from the previews is If That Isn't Love just for the sound of it. I'm a huge Miley Cyrus fan, so I'm a little disappointed in Al's take at her. Especially with the lower key and kind of an autotune sounding song. Although, I'm glad that she can say that she has a Weird Al parody. I like TMZ a little better than Party In The CIA. Another Tattoo sounds like it has promise, as well. Stop Forwarding This Crap To Me is too little of the ballad to really tell much. I was expecting a longer song with this one.

Why do people get disappointed by Al lowering the keys of songs that he, you know, can't sing in their original key? Would you rather hear him uncomfortably trying to scream the songs out and barely hitting any of the notes at all? What's the thought process here?

It's not completely the fact of lowering the key. I'm fine with TMZ. It's just that CIA sounds more different from the original to me. I don't know. Maybe it's just that I'm more familiar with the original, so I notice it more. But, yeah...of course he has to lower the key and change it some, or it would sound even worse.

Well Al being a 50 something year old man would have a very hard time sounding like a then 16/17ish year old girl... so its understandable that it would sound quite differnt from the original

It's ridiculous to expect him to keep it in the same key. He's a MAN doing a parody of a woman's song. What is he supposed to do, sing the whole thing in falsetto? It's absolute nonsense.

Of course the song had to be lowered! As Weirdojace said, it would be terrible if Al was screaming and squeaking to hit those high notes.

Also, in case you can't tell "Party in the USA" is COATED in obvious auto-tune. Al's just keeping with the original.

I have such a mixed-opinion of auto-tune. Sure, it's intended purpose to fix the occasional boo boo is great and I understand the need for that, but taking someone who has zero talent (*cough*cough*Rebecca Black*) and making them sound like someone with talent (Hayley Williams) is such a bad use of it.

I am thinking that Ringtone may be a possible favorite on the album. Ever since i listened to the clips on Amazon it has been stuck in my head. I seem to remember thinking it was my least favorite of the Leaks... maybe it was my least favorite video

My two cents about lowering the key.... Al's songs always end up better than the original.. and I mean come on guys, he's lowered the key to just about every female parody he's ever done including Michael Jackson!!! And Al's version STILL ends up better than the original... 30 second clips do the songs no justice whatsoever, I would rather wait to get all excited about these until I hear the FULL songs
