Lmao Alicia. This is why I love you so much.

Yankopunk wrote: Like I was mentioning, someone brought him a Hawaiian shirt and he just lit up like a kid on Christmas. "Oh, wow! Thank you!" He immediately got up and put it on and was just so grateful to the fan for the gift. That, and I saw him marvel at costumes that fans made. He even would ask them to come around the table and then he took out his phone for a selfie and talked about how he wanted to show his wife the cool costumes.
I've been thinking about giving him a Hawaiian shirt if and when I get to meet him (cause I came across an interesting one recently), and I was wondering if he'd even like it or if it would be tacky but it seems I needn't have worried. He's such a sweetheart. <3 And he's so aware of how much a meeting like that can mean to a fan, he's talked about that in podcasts, that that's why he always tries his best to be nice and make it a memorable moment.
Yankopunk wrote:There's an old saying I once read: "Those who think that they don't deserve fans or the fans' love tend to be the sweetest and most appreciative." That one interview with him in Rolling Stone made me cry a bit at this part:
We happened to be visiting Yankovic at his house in the Hollywood hills for an upcoming story for Rolling Stone when his longtime manager Jay Levey told him the album was likely to debut on top of the charts. Tears welled up in Yankovic's eyes and his wife Suzanne comforted him. "Sweetie," she said. "It's just people loving you like they always have."
He still gets blown away by all the love he receives.

I loved that part of the interview as well. It's just so sweet that he gets so emotional over fans showing him love, that he just doesn't seem to take any of it for granted, even after all these years. I love that about him.
