I get WGN, but when I checked the schedule with the satellite menu, I couldn't find any news listed until noon, Pacific time. Do I have my time zones confused?

That sucks! Why doesn't the Superstation carry it?

Cause they're evil. No news until noon.

I'd guess maybe a regional thing...but then why would they show the noon news?

Presumably just to tick us off that little bit more. We are witnessing a truly malevolent force at work.

It is sort of a regional thing. You see, even though it's been a cable "superstation" for the last couple of decades, in Chicago WGN is also the local WB affiliate. For some contractual reason WGN cannot broadcast WB programming nationally (even though my satellite provider has a number of other "superstations" out of Denver and L.A. that do just that), so WGN has to create two separate feeds of programming: one just for Chicago (to show the WB shows), and another for the rest of the country. I guess it's like the reverse rule of why ball games are sometimes "blacked out" on local stations (well, not really, but you get the idea).
But why this would affect the station's own newscasts, I don't know. Perhaps the morning news focuses more on local stories, so they wanted to make it exclusive to the Chicago feed?

Yes, it is WGN, not CNN.
The WGN morning news is on from 5-9 (not 10). As far as I know, the main guests are always on sometime between 7-9.
Apparently, my mom told me today, they mentioned that the whole week has been dedicated to Weird Al. Today they showed about 1 minute of the
Jurassic Park video and the anchors said something to the effect that they hadn't seen it before, but thought it was a really cute video and that Al was very talented. It sounded like they had just shown brief video clips other days this week, so I guess we didn't really miss anything.
