I totally agree with that (and not just because I've liked Jerry Seinfeld forever and am a little biased). Jerry was already scheduled to be on the show, and he took that opportunity to help out someone he considers a friend. Kudos, Jerry ... and I just know your kids are adorable, even if the clowns at their parties can be a pain!

I hope Michael gets the help he alluded to. He really did seem sincere ... and I know I've personally blurted out things that I was sorry I said immediately afterward. Good luck, Mr. Richards.

Oh ... yeah ... and as always ... the extra features on the Seinfeld DVD set are gonna ROCK!!

I really don't think it's enough to hate a guy over. He was angry. What is he to do? He apologized for it. I still think he's a very funny guy and I still respect him greatly.

Good to hear about Mike apologizing. I knew he would, even RJ Fletcher couldn't keep him down....so I knew no one at a Laugh Factory could. I couldn't believe that Stanley was saying those things, but I'm sure something made him not himself that night. Was thinking about watching Dave tonight, too, since Jerry was on there. Oh well, just glad to know Mike apologized.

No, the guy said "You're not funny" BEFORE Michael started shouting.

I've been angry a lot too, but I've never shouted racial slurs at someone and said that 50 years ago they'd be hanging from a tree.

It's really a shame to see him do that to himself. He was such a great actor and comedian and now that is what he's going to be known for

I think Richards is going to get the crap beaten out of him before long. Nobody says "That's what happens when you interrupt a white man" and gets away with it anymore.

There were other things being shouted at Michael throughout the show, which he said (on Letterman) were not included on the now infamous video I assume you've seen. That's why he finally snapped, because nothing else he was doing was shutting the hecklers up. Also, the people he first shouted racial slurs at also shouted racial slurs at him while they were leaving, which is equally as wrong as what Michael did.

At least he apologized. Hopefully things can move on.

We can only hope so. A guy made a pretty bad mistake, admitted to it and apparently is getting help, and it's wise if people just leave it in the past. With legwarmers and handlebar mustaches.

When people in the Letterman audience started to laugh (which was awful), Michael appeared as if he was going to say that wasn't the place to apologize, but I think it was fine...having Jerry there for support was nice, and you could really tell he was sorry. He seemed to be so upset that he was frozen for seconds at a time a number of times during the interview. I was very glad to see he didn't come on the show and read something a manager or publicist would've wrote for him.

Unrelated to that, I was kind of disappointed Jerry did not do his stand-up act. It appeared, by the way Dave was setting him up and by his (hilarious) responses, that he was planning on doing his stand-up act, but didn't in order to give Michael a chance to apologize. That was an awesome thing to do.

I noticed that as well ... I am sure Jerry had plenty of material set to go (as was seen during the second part of the interview), but he by passed that to make room for Michael ... and as I said a couple posts above, that was quite the "stand up" thing to do.

I believe Jerry came across very well, even if we didn't get a set from him ... and I am gonna go out tomorrow and buy that book he forwarded.

Oh ... and special thanks to David Letterman for letting his show go "that way" ... as someone else stated, this was the perfect outlet for the apology.
