If anyone ever does organize another Weird Al convention, it can't be called AlCon, because Amanda is not doing them any more, and she has rights to the AlCon name. It would be a lot of work. It's been 6 years since the last one, so it'd be nice if we had another.

As far as marking Al's 50th next year in some special way, I'm in.

:D

We really don't even need to call it anything. We could just set up a huge birthday party for Al where all the fans can come and there could be entertainment and stuff like that. Sort of like AlCon but it's a birthday party instead of a fan convention.

We could call it "Al's Big Birthday Bash" or something.

Ohh, and here is a link to a post Dave made, with a link to that elusive interview Louise and I were talking about. I can't get the video to play, but if you read all the comments about that interview, you can get an idea of what Al said. So, any party foods may have dairy in them, including the cake *which it would be an honor to make*.

A giant party would be awesome, I'd love to organise something like that. Damn being in another country :(

Thanks for the link. That's a relief that we can have dairy in the party foods. (well if there is a party) You would need to bake a REALLY big cake, though!

It could be several layers. I've made a wedding cake before, so it's feasible for me to make a cake that'll fee a lot of people.

Or we just chip in and order a cake from Duff Goldman, the owner of Ace of Cakes (The cake shop even has a reality show on Food Network). THAT would make an interesting episode! "So a bunch of Weird Al fans ordered a cake in the shape of an accordion. Let's just say it was weird...."

I was thinking of a cake in the shape of Al's head, but that's a bit...freaky... An accordion would be cool, and while the cakes are expensive, if you get enough people devoted to this and going, we can easily pay it off. Just an idea. :)
