Is anyone else finidng this song really difficult to learn? I can't remember the lyrics, even when I'm singing along with it. I know the general spirit of what's being said in each of the parts, but I can't quite remember the exact words - maybe because of the lousy beat and the way the lyrics don't really fit the beat too well. W&N was far easier to remember by comparison.
I don't really understand this, why do you need to memorize the lyrics?

Um.....why not memorize the lyrics? Then, you can irritate your friends and family without having them listen to a recording.
Anyways, the song is great. I'm so glad that there is something new, because I was kind of getting sidetracked...but I'm back now!!! By the way, I also like the "it's all about the Washingtons" line. Positively excellent.

An update on my opinion (since I like to feel important and I am going to pretend anyone remember what my opinion was about 5 pages ago)
After not listening to it for a day, I've found Al singing "You can have whatever you like..." has been in my head ALL DAY. And it wasn't so annoying. I think it's just the background music that screws with me so bad. Probably the "one distorted bass note". After all, I am a band geek and perfectionist. If the bass annoys me, its gonna be a problem for sure. But perhaps I am getting over it...
I hope to continue to see this song rise through the charts!

"one distorted bass note"
I have no idea what do you mean exactly by that, but I feel your pain. One of the things that's been boggling my mind is the fact that Al's version of the song doesn't have any female background vocals, like the original does. Why be such a perfectionist in copying all the instruments but not the vocals? Was the song
really that rushed he couldn't find anyone to do them?

I don't see how that's a problem, nor that it matters, nor that it would improve the song.
I think the song is FINE AS-IS.
