You should force yourself to listen to your local corporate station then for a while. It only takes a day, then you'll hear each song so many times that you'll be able to remember the lyrics by heart.
The best thing to do is look up the time frame, then go to youtube and look at the Billboard Hits for that week. It plays the top 40 in small clips so you just get an idea of what's out there. Alot of times I think you'll realize you did hear the song before, you just didn't know the title or pay much attention to it.

Eminem's pretty big right now, isn't he?
How old was that last signature? I mean, really?

Whatinthe27 wrote:[ Question: Has Al ever lead off an album with a "second" (Etc) single from an established artist's new album? (I mean real first single on radio, MTV, not promotional stuff...). I could see him doing Grenade since Bruno Mars is still a newer artist, but I just can't see it being E. T. or Firework
If I recall correctly, "Hot In Herre" was the second single off of his album Nellyville. And "Waterfalls" was the third single off of Crazysexycool. And "It's All About The Benjamins" was something like the umpteenth single off of whatever that Puff Daddy album was.

So it could be anything, then.

I think he should do a Justin Bieber parody because JB's destined to be spoofed (not counting Polka Face)
Al's working on Album #14 RIGHT NOW (kinda)!!!!

Now Remember.. we already covered this, Al tends NOT to do parodies of FEMALE popsters because the key they sing in is often to high....

That would be pandering at this point.

Not that I'd put Al past it, mind you......I just hope he picks something with at least a little challenge
You have quickly thought up such matchless phrase?

Pleease not 'black and yellow'! Grenade could have potential to be good parody fodder though, i imagine...! It would be interesting if he did decide to target a female this time, maybe Rihanna/Katy Perry/Pink - he's changed the key to suit before anyway :-)

I still think it's ironic that so many Weird Al fans on this forum are disconnected from pop music trends when Al's whole act revolves around it. Really, it's not like it's hard to hear these songs. You've most likely even heard them playing over the radio in fast food restaurants or at the grocery store...
