I think its more of that people would take it more as asking money for something I got for free on TV, kinda like a bootleg, even if Biography hasn't sold a DVD of it yet.

Thank you, Meli! I'm so excited to see it now.

Paying for the shipping cost wouldn't have any legal troubles, would it? I mean, it's not like she's making money on that.
Giving unsolicited money isn't illegal. If she was "selling" them, then it's a problem.

I was just trying to make sure Meli wouldn't get into any trouble. Those lawyers are sometimes very aggressive.

Reimbursing someone for shipping (and even for the cost of envelopes and dvds) is not illegal. Selling it for a profit is an entirely different thing, and yes, that's illegal.
Meli-Many of us have done this sort of thing before (by that I mean share copies of music or videos that others don't have access to). Most of the time the people who want the copy pay at least for the cost of postage. It's only fair, and especially because it often ends up to be quite a few people who want copies--no one person should have to pay for all that. It's only a couple bucks each for the people who want a copy--hardly anything, ya know?
You are so sweet to want to do this for everybody, but your Mom does have a point. Nobody here wants to negatively affect your relationship with the parental units. (you know the saying--"If Mama ain't happy, ain't
nobody happy!")
Stay on Mom's good side and have people reimburse you for the postage.
Just my two cents.

You do have a very good point there Vikki. I think one of the main reasons I said no to paying is because I'm not an adult, so I don't have PayPal or any money transferring thing, so people would be sending me either a cash or check through the mail, and I know some people are unsure about that. I suppose a reimburse would be nice, its just not really in my place to push now, especially since some people already received theirs and some might not be able to pay me any money.
I guess if anyone could, a reimburse would be nice, and you know, help my childish financial needs. But if its out of question in case of money shortage or anything, don't feel obligated to send me the money. I don't want anyone to feel bad about not being able to pay for a 14 year old's shipping cost. I know all together, shipping these will cost about $50, but that doesn't mean everyone write me a check or stuff your envelopes with cash. Like I said, its not necessary to reimburse me, I understand financial trouble all too well. I make an income as an actress and I know the pain of taxes. Ugh, its annoying...

Well then, Meli, if it's not a big deal, how about those who can afford it go donate that money to the Star Fund? (sure wish I was one of those that had $2 to spare)

As much as I'd personally like that idea, remember we're trying to get Meli back in Mom's good graces, which means the $ would have to go to Meli.
