BTW: What would it be called if Alcon is taken? The Steve Jay convention?

Okay by me!
I was kicking around "AL-fest", but I'm also thinking it should be put out there-tap that wonderful fan creativity and have a little contest to name it.
And yes, I am seriously considering doing this, and as I said before, if I do, it will be sometime during the Orange County fair in 2009 (July 10-Aug 2), to coincide with the Al events scheduled for the fair. I think this is good timing for a fan convention.

If you need help putting together a website for it. Lemme know.
Nailing down dates would also be a good start. Are we looking at, beginning, middle, or end of the fair? Also how many days would the convention be? Glad to see someone is considering doing this. Go Vikki!

jbracciante, you are graduating in '09? So is my son. Another reason for you to come out to a Yankofest.

Wow, quite an accomplishment, validictorian or not! I'm going to start calling you jbrainiac.
Regarding a con, IF I decide to move forward with it, I'm considering two days (or actually more like one and a half but with possible excursions on the half day if people want to). I want to time the date of the con to be a day or two before the start of Al's OC Fair concerts. So, since there has been no formal announcement that there will be Al concerts at the 2009 OC Fair, I'm obviously making an assumption at this point, and will have to wait a few more weeks for confirmation.

OC is out of the question for me. But the possible unofficial New England one might be do-able.

I couldn't do OC. Oh well. Only if I could drive...and was over 18..and had some money...

I'm eagerly awaiting confirmation then.
If I were to go, I would most likely go w/ my friend Sam who has driven to Al concerts in the past. We have talked about doing a cross country trip, and this would be a great opportunity for it. We are speculating at stopping In Tulsa, and Albuquerque. We could make this an awesome Weird Al themed trip. Maybe even stop by the twine ball. We are both into film and such, and may decide to make a documentary of it. Of course these are all just ideas at the moment, but hey it's never too early to start planning.
If you decide not to do it Vikki, at least I got laugh to myself when I thought of "James and Sam's Excellent Adventure" (Parody of Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, referenced in the Kev Fed interview)
