That seems a bit unlikely because Al probably wants to surprise us with the imagery for the (hopefully live action) video by not including it on the single cover. Plus, I highly doubt he's even started on the video yet.

I watched the video for Born This Way-it's something else. Al's truly could be epic. On getting permission, I think in the future Al should not jump through so many hoops. If he starts to get too many demands from the artists or they ask to jump through too many hoops, move on. He's been in the biz long enough he should not have to go through so much to get permission. I know most of the time there are few problems, but why should he have to have gone through what he did for this song?

Personally, I think if they tell him to do this and that, he should do whatever he wants, release his parody, get sued, and win. There's nothing legally they can do.

Just kidding.
Too many artists take themselves seriously.

In this day and age, when there is Twitter and email and stuff I find it ridiculous that there are stars who are "unreachable" on a matter of a business deal.
The culture of deference and separateness ought to be a thing of the past. It should be EASY for Al to approach anyone he chooses to. Holy heck he is Weird Al after all, and its business. It's not 1911 any more. Nobody is so important that they cant speak for themselves

From the way the Gaga Saga was written, it sounds like Lady Gaga's manager didn't really know who Al was.

But he did since he managed Nelly when PH came out. I think the manager was protecting her image. Yes, it gets made fun of lot, but thats something they cant control. If someone comes to them asking, why would they say yes?

On the Huffington Post, there is a "This Week in Crazy" where Lady Gaga is featured. She had two other mini-scandals as well as the thing with Al. They list PTW saga as the worst of the three
