I'm sure people in Colorado have a sense of humor. If they would get offended by that line in "I'll Sue Ya" then how does the show South Park still exist? It's setting is in Colorado and it's the craziest show I've ever watched. They're not going to care. :P

Actually, Colorado would be perfect for me too...My brother lives out here, and I'll be coming out here for college in another year or so in Boulder. I'd definitely be there! :D

And reffering back to the fact that the title "AlCon" is copyrighted, is there any way we could speak with Amanda and see if we could use the title? I mean, what if she let us organize the event, but still used that name? We could give her a free ticket!!! :P Eh, I don't know...It would just feel so much more "official" to call it AlCon!

Also, maybe we could try to get this organized a bit closer to when we think he might be starting on a new Album (possibly this spring or something?), so if he manages to show up, we might get some kind of cool easter eggs or something! Idk - regardless, I actually think Colorado might even be easier for Al to come to (other than California I mean!) because the plane rides are an hour or less to come here...so it wouldn't be too far out of his way. Plus, it is somewhat centralized. I think the more we start trying to set stuff in stone, the more we can organize this and get it to actually happen. I'm really willing to help out in any ways I can too... :)

I've been thinking... no matter where the AlCon is held, it's going to inconvenience somebody.

So, I suggest we hold it in Tasmania. That way, everybody gets inconvenienced! :D

there is a 99% chance that there wont be another one, hate to burst your bubble,
1 you have to call it something else
2 you wont make any money off it,
3 it cost a lot of money to put one on,
4 a lot of planning goes into it
5 you WILL lose money on doing one
6 it has to be where the person planning it lives
7 you have to pay the people performing to come
8 but if you got 20 grand to spend, go ahead and plan one
9 did i mention u WILL lose money doing one
fred

total shows to date, 161

August 2 is my birthday - happy birthday to me! That would be a great way to celebrate.

Fred, are you sure no money can be made? lol

I'm just glad this is being discussed, it sounds like fun.

Now, that's a really pessimistic view of it.

Calling it something else wouldn't mean much - WeirdCon, YankoFest, people will know that it's a Weird Al convention if you advertise it properly.

It would be possible to make money off of it. $10 a ticket... you could easily make some money off of it, even with the performances and stuff, especially considering the amount of people willing to go.

And $20K isn't an unfeasible amount of money to have to make one, especially if you have multiple people planning it together and pooling their money.

My point is, is that it's totally possible that there will be another one. In fact, I'm sure of it. What I'm not sure of is when it's going to happen.
