I think the "Pre-Shipment" ultimately means that they've printed out the labels and now they're probably packaging everything. Then, they'll slap the label on and send it out. That, or maybe they're waiting to ship some of these because they think it's too early and they want it to arrive on or just before / after the release date. Who knows?

Back in January we were told the release date was Nov 24. I guess I can't expect anything before that.

Yeah, I'm THRILLED I got it 10 days early. Don't know how or why, but I'm just glad it happened. 
Honestly, the box it comes in is pretty big and they gotta have several hundred or thousand of them to mail, so it might just be a matter of them not having the room to store them all until they can ship them at the same time. Plus if they tried to ship them all at the same time, they would need multiple mail trucks to come pick them up. So they probably assemble it, print out a shipping label, and send whatever they get done that day on its way. Less stress on the system and good business sense. You won't get any complaints if people get them early. Ship them late and the phone will start ringing off the hook.
