Staff there is pretty sure it'll be July 10 through August 2, though nothing official has been released.

I always laugh when these topics come up, whether it be Al convention speculation or tour date speculation or whatever, because there's always a ton of "I think it should be held in my backyard" posts. Sure, you want it in your backyard, you got it! All you need to do is prove to the person organizing the event that they will make money by holding it in your backyard.

It takes a lot of money and time and hard work to put on a big event like this. If you can find a way to put on an attractive event while keeping the price, including any travel costs your guests will incur, reasonable, then people will come. Usually big cities with cheap airfare, lots of lodging and transportation options, and tourist attractions fit ths criteria.

They were both in Elk Grove, IL (near Chicago) because that's where Amanda (the ALCON host) lives. It was well attended because Elk Grove is so close to O'Hare and the rates were good at the Holiday Inn.
