To all those going to the concert tonight, have fun!

One of the only ones that I won't be at.

Make sure to review if there were any changes. I don't expect there to be any setlist changes, but there may be some different video clips used. Especially any of the newer clips that Al has done.

Hopefully they'll get that Casino filled for a great kick-off show!

Was the setlist the same as the rest of the Alpocalypse tour?

How did that new LED show screen that Jim posted about look? Any changes in the video clips?

Also, I saw a post on twitter that mentioned audio problems. What were those?

Hmm, well I guess it doesn't matter to you.

It's just details about the show. Thought that was what we had discussion topics on the concerts for.

You're not really sitting there waiting for mistakes to happen, though. It's details about a show. I pay attention to everything in the concerts because Al's shows are so complex. So many different audio, visual elements. That used to be why my reviews were so detailed on here of concerts.

Well, all arguing aside (sorry 'bout that), did anyone go to the concert that could give us a quick review?

Yes, I went. I was in the second row, center. Nice! Yes, there were some audio problems (Al's microphone wasn't on for the first few bars of Party in the CIA and for a little bit of WBUL, and a few times I saw Jim signaling to somebody offstage that something needed to be corrected but I have no idea what) and also I'm guessing there were some kind of wardrobe problems... several times band members or Al came actually racing onto the stage just barely in time to play or sing their first lines (and Al had to take the stage for Skipper Dan without his black beret) but honestly, I didn't care. I do notice those things in passing, but they're not what I watch for. And I don't think that people who aren't tourchasers would notice those things at all. Al's a perfectionist, but I don't have to be; a few minor flubs don't affect my enjoyment in the slightest. They all had good energy, they sounded good, I was surrounded by first-timers who were blown away-- they had a blast (I had a dad & two boys, maybe 6 and 8, beside me. Dad had been to the Cannery show, and came back for this one with the boys. It was their first concert of any kind). I had heard there were some problems with ticket sales, but I'd say that at the end, it was at least about 70% full, which I call not bad for a concert during the school year at a place that's kind of out of the way and doesn't really have a lot of other reasons to go there (unless you're a big roller coaster fan, they have a coaster there). It was Frank's 2000" TV, and some very good Nirvana cheerleaders (if you can't find good dancers in the neighborhood of Las Vegas, where ARE you going to find them?) One of them had pink hair and tats all up her arms, which I think definitely gave an extra edge to the performance. And the LED screen was great. Very clear & bright. I had a wonderful time. I'm sure everybody in Albuquerque will, too.
