No way he would be first out. He's got some dancing experience even if its only for videos or the stage. He's got a huge fan base, a lot of these shows are popularity contest especially in the beginning. And he's funny and witty so he'll connect with the average couch potato. And he's got a good work ethic, so he's gonna put in the time to practice.

Also, he cleans up really well. Take him out of the funny shirts, put him in a suit, he'll surprise a lot of people.

Maybe he will find out about all this and enough people bother him about it he will change his mind. Maybe he think's its a bad trashy jersey shore type reality show and does not know that this is one of the few good ones out there.

DWTS may not be trashy, but it is cheesy. I don't get why people are gung ho for him to do this. No one would take him the least bit seriously as a talented person. He has that problem in the rest of his world already. Why do it while dancing every week?

I agree that this would not be the best reality show choice for him. I did get the sense though that Al isn't really that interested in doing any reality shows, but DWTS is especially unappealing for the reasons listed above. I think he would do pretty well on Celebrity Apprentice, or a guest spot for one episode on a talent scout type of show like American Idol, the X Factor, etc. But it really seemed like he was not interested at all, and frankly I don't blame him in the least. As Wizzerkat said, people already don't take him seriously, and it's unlikely that appearing on a reality show with washed up stars would help that image.

I also don't think that Al would truly like being judged and scrutinized on his performances each and every week. Then, as much as I think he would have success, you always have the possibility that he would be made fun and be the first voted off. You can never predict how the public will receive someone on that show.
And to think that Al wouldn't know what DWTS was? Really?? He doesn't live under any rocks. I'm sure that he knows exactly what it is.

Personally I think Al is a great choice for a guest judge on American Idol

Well, I would watch Al on anything because it's Al, and if it were something that seemed rather un-Al-like, that would make it interesting simply because it would be new/different. But I suppose when someone's truly uncomfortable doing something, it often shows up in their body language (even if they're trying to hide it) and that can make it hard to watch. With a gun to his head, I think he could do any number of things well, but fortunately for him, he's successful enough that he doesn't need to put himself through that. Still, it's fun to think about him in various new situations just for the heck of it. Plus, you never know, he could end up doing his own mini "spoof" clip of some of these reality shows, so for anyone who wanted to see him dance, just cross your fingers that he ends up
spoofing DWTS at some point down the road and you're practically there.

Spoof is what Al loves doing. Fair enough, I guess.
I would love to see him spoof a drama... like, draw us in, shock us, move us, and then, at the very end... SICK PUNCHLINE!!!

I agree with Al's opinion of reality shows in general. I'd rather not see him on any of them. He's got better things to do.
Jon Stewart had a great joke about this season's DWTS -- "They should try it with celebrities."
