I wonder if he did the same set for both shows. Which one did you go to Mashed? Did anyone else here go to the other?

Glad to hear some of you guys went. According to the mothership, these are the songs he performed the last time he was at the "Just For Laughs" festival on July 18, 1990.
Addicted To Spuds
One More Minute
The Biggest Ball of Twine In Minnesota
Good Old Days
Lasagna
There is a clip on YouTube of Al performing CNR. I would've guessed he'd play "Polka Face", but I also thought he'd play "TMZ" with possibly "Frank's 2000" TV" or "You Make Me". Quite frankly, I'm surprised he didn't even think to play "Canadian Idiot". Although I don't quite see why he needed to perform WBUL other than feeling obligated because he played "One More Minute" last time, that does sound like a good performance.

I dont know if this has been already said somewhere in this topic but i was looking at Al's facebook and there was a link about him hosting the festival and it said that it would be airing on Comedy Central. So maybe this and the concert will air around the same time and be some kind of Weird Al day

Looked around at a few of the clips of this online. Found it interesting that Al was wearing glasses during Lovr. You could also see him wearing glasses at other times throughout the evening. I'm guessing that this was just due to different stuff he may have to read with his responsibilities of hosting the show. But, it was interesting.

I'm not able to directly link to anything on here. But, you just have to search for weird al on youtube and have it sort from recently added.

So did Al interact with any of these other performers or just introduce them? Did any of them play with Al on his three-song setlist? Did he play all three songs at once or scattered throughout the night? Hoping for a longer writeup when someone has the chance. And can anyone ID everybody in that photo?

I've watched a few clips on Teh YuToobs, and from the looks of it, the songs were not played one after the other and Al just introduced the acts and left the stage.

Yeah, after CNR, you can see that as soon as their song was finished that Al introduced a comedian to come on-stage. So, there was, at least, a break after that song. It wouldn't surprise me if they may have performed the polka and then went into CNR, since the band was still in their black shirts that they wear for the polka medley.

Hi guys, sticking my n00b head in here because I thought you might be interested in seeing some photos from the early show:

Just Al: http://www.third-beat.com/?p=2215

Few more Al, and the rest: http://www.third-beat.com/?p=2218

I signed a very strict useage waiver with the festival, so please don't redistribute these photos (but feel free to link!). I like to keep things without watermarks whenever I can, so people can enjoy them.

Had to shoot from the sound board due to the filming. There are many more that didn't make the cut, so if there's something in particular someone wants to see, just drop me a line and I'll add it to one of the posts.

I was told by the festival that it was actually the Comedy Network filming, which is the Canadian equal to Comedy Central. Not sure what the truth actually is there, but it was a full shoot with a jib and everything, so hopefully it'll surface soon.

This was actually my first time seeing Al live, so I don't know if this is unusual, but he did some scripted jokes at the top of the show, maybe 5 minutes worth. He was looking at one spot most of the time, which made me suspect a teleprompter, but I wasn't able to see from where I was. Between each set, he came out and read the scripted introduction for the next act.

He had a few minor costume changes through the show, but nothing over-the-top like I've heard so much about.

I unfortunately had to leave the venue before Al went back on stage for the final time, so no pics of whatever he closed with.

Really hope to see him do a full live show someday! I live in Toronto and had to miss out a few weeks ago due to scheduling conflicts. My time will come!
