I entirely agree, Jurassic Park: way better than the original song, but not very lead parody worthy (especially since the original is mildly obscure), Bedrock would've been more suitable, but I don't really love that one either. The Saga Begins, actually this one works, every one knows the original, and the movie it's about had just come out, also it's a way better song then Rabi, also Pentiums is a parody of an obscure version of a popular song. Couch Potato, I really don't like this song, it just seams like he made it specifically because Eminem was so popular at the time, and wasn't concerned at all about the quality of the lyrics.

Better lead singles on these albums: Alapalooza: Bedrock Anthem, Running with Scissors: None, Poodle Hat: A Complicated Song or eBay.

Also, yes, a Lady Gaga track should be the lead single for the next record. She has an album coming out next year? Wow, she works fast. I'm going to guess her new album will be called "The Famous Faming Famulous Fame-tastic Monster... Fame"

Couch Potato was such a smurf song, I don't know what compelled Al to think that was the right choice for a lead parody.

You're right though... the success of the album all boils down Al choosing the right parody. Alapalooza's should have been Bedrock Anthem. RWS' should have been Rabbi or Pentiums, and PH's should have been eBay.

Of course it also wouldn't hurt to, y'know, make a video to more than one song for once. (Yeah yeah, he has the animated stuff, I know. But those don't do nearly as well as the live action stuff. Did any of those animated videos even get airplay besides Al-TV?)

I don't know. If Couch Potato had the video Al envisioned, we might all be singing a different tune about that one right now.

I disagree Jace, I think that TSB was a perfect song for a lead parody. He got it out very close to the release of the movie, and everybody knows the song. It was two big things in pop culture coming together.

I agree with Jon. If Al had made the video he claims to have envisioned, it would probably change the way we view the song. And 7 years later, Im still not sure why there wasnt another video for PH. He says he was too deep into preproduction on CP to switch gears for another song. But he did Bob, which he said was for AlTv. Now if that was just a bit for the show, and an extremely easy one at that, he should have been able to do another video. Of course after typing all that, I realized that Nina had just been born, so I will quickly change my tune.

And I love Lady Gaga, but I dont think she should be a parody. She bookends the polka and the title is a parody of her. People commented when he did eminem in a parody and polka on the same album. Kind of relying on one person is not the best route in my opinion

TMB Jon, I agree with the fact that Couch Potato would've made Poodle Hat better if there was a supplemented video for it. I personally, thought the song did have some merit to it. He truly captured the Eminem style of rhyming.

Second, I think it has to be Gaga. Personally I don't know why there is an unwritten rule that he can't polka and parody somebody. If his albums are like "time capsules" then Gaga almost has to be a big target on this album. People who don't know much about pop culture still know who Gaga is so I find the parody/polka treatment suitable.

Not saying its a rule, just kinda like a double dip. Take Cledus T Judd. His second album had two Shania Twain parodies. Both funny, but when it got to the second one, it was like ok, I get it, shes real big right now. How about another artist. Of course he also did two parodies of the same song on that album

Two parodies of the same song? Jeez, overkill much?

Yeah, it's a double-dip :)...but I think it would be a warranted one, you know? I feel like Gaga is the only artist now who warrants the polka/parody treatment if you know what I mean.
