Re: Discontinued Albums
Let it be known, I was the one who made the comments on the discontinuations on Wikipedia. I originally read something about it on All Things Yankovic, I believe, I may be wrong. I eventually went to Amazon and found the 'Discontinued' message. So, I headed over to Wikipedia and made note of it (I did the same for Survivor, who only have 3 of their original albums still available physically). I also noted this on the page for Volcano Records.

Re: Discontinued Albums
I was in my local music store and I saw they had two copies of "Polka Party!" and one copy of "UHF" - completely new, mind you - marked down to $3.99. I guess they're really trying to purge the stores of the albums. Sad. At least Al fans will get these new albums for a cheap price.

Re: Discontinued Albums
Not a bad deal. Was in a couple of used record stores in my area, and one of the stores had Straight Outta Lynwood, used, for about $4.00. I already had it, but I'm looking for a Polka Party! I have a majority of his albums on cassette, been looking to get the cd's though, cause my tape deck broke. I have all his releases up to Bad Hair Day on cassette, but bought Running with Scissors-on on CD.

I'm also looking for Polka Party! (plus UHF and a used Scotti Bors. copy of OTDE) I could probably just order EW and a Volcano copy of OTDE from the mothership while I still can.

Re: Discontinued Albums
Amazon says they still have Polka Party and are expecting more soon. Oddly enough, it's a new SKU with a release date of December.

Re: Discontinued Albums
Hmm, it says the label is "Sbme Special Mkts." Isn't that a type of special re-issue subsidiary of Sony? Maybe this album isn't lost after all!!

Re: Discontinued Albums
Yeah, I guess they sent it to a reissue label so they could still make copies of it, but not as many at a time to save money.

Re: Discontinued Albums
Or, and this is just a guess, it might also just be overstock that Sony sent to an affiliate to sell off.

Re: Discontinued Albums
Thanks for the Amazon link! I just ordered cheap used copies of Polka party and UHF as well as a rare "collectible" original Scotti Bros. edition of "Off The Deep End" from 1992!
(and it only cost $27!)
