Escondido fans! We've just released 30 more tickets for the Christmas Shorts-stravaganza into the public. Get 'em quick! http://j.mp/JLEdS
Eww, it's in Escondido? Extra-nevermind. No offense to anyone that lives there, I just don't want to drive down there.

It's being held at the California Center for the Arts, which is a lovely venue:

Since we didn't win the trip to San Diego, my daughter and I will be watching tonight from our neighborhood theatre. :) Can't wait!

Hubby and I will also be enjoying this from our neighborhood theatre tonight. I read an interview with Al(The Onion) and he got the DVD of this in the mail like 2 days ago or something. I wonder if Al has had any time to really plan anything or will it be a lot off the cuff?

Definitely plan to be enjoying this in the theatre right next to my house. From what I have been seeing, it looks like Al may just be riffing the one short about the pork. Hopefully it will be more, but just wanted to pass that out as a warning. Since, most of us got carried away with thinking Al would sing on the whole benefit show.

Should be fun!

If it's anything like the last show, they'll all be working (and reading) from a very tight script of riffs, which (since Al only got the DVD two days ago) I'm guessing the Rifftrax crew wrote without Al's involvement. I'm sure they'll rehearse it a lot beforehand.

If true, that's a little disappointing. Weird Al's voice but not Weird Al's skewed viewpoint behind the writing of his riffs?

I'm sure a lot of that was also true for the "Jurassic Park" riff.

Complaining that the RIFFTRAX guys are writing this instead of Al is like complaining that you're being fed filet mignon because they're all out of Maine lobster. Either way, it's gonna be an amazing feast.

My guess is, they'll give Al a script, but Al will be allowed to "punch up" his parts however he pleases.

Unless you're a huuuuge Maine lobster connoisseur, and have no opinion about filet mignon. Sure it might taste good, but why would you go out to that restaurant knowing the lobster has run out if all you really care about is eating lobster?
