If Sparks don't use any significant costume in their live performances, it could just be the last song before he starts changing into costumes.

I'm fine with not hearing the song performed live, but couldn't it be done without backing vocals if he does something similar to how W&N live is performed, by having Steve and Jim help on the fast parts, when he takes a breath?

Absolutely, I think the fast part is something that could happen, one way or another, live without backing vocals.
What I meant was there are a lot of other parts of the song, especially in the chorus, that would require vocals as the song has a lot of Weird Als singing the various parts.
