I didn't really think it would actually WORK. I know I've read that even the Stones lose money on the smaller club shows, and no matter what charitable activities Al may engage in, touring isn't supposed to be one of them.
True, you get new and different songs with each new tour's setlist, but the idea of somehow having it all, both the new songs and some of the older ones that would otherwise be squeezed offstage, is an appealing one.

I'm beginning to think there's something to this...
so... I did a yahoo search for "rock parody" to see how soon Al would turn up.
The first mention (at least as determinable from the excerpts given) was alsongs.com.... at #27 on the list.

Everyone but me has probably already seen this, but since I just found it...

...check out Al's VH1 Tip Of The Week. It's pretty funny.

I can't claim credit for this one, I just chased the link backwards from the one Elvis gave with Al in the Black Suit...

It's a real shame Al hasn't enjoyed his job all these years...
I do have to say, that I am glad I didn't see the Circus Of The Stars thing. Yikes! It would have scared me to death to watch Al up there. What was he thinking? I bet Mary had a fit!

I'm sure he followed the same rule as other people do who have loving, protective, worrying moms, and didn't tell her anything about it until he was safely back on the ground.

I didn't know anything about it until several years after it happened and it still freaks me out!
Give Jay a raise, Al! Yikes!
That was not trick photography, I really was hanging off a sway pole 55 feet in the air without a safety net. My manager says if he gets any more offers for me to be on Circus Of The Stars, hes not going to tell me about them.

Al the Maytag Repairman?

Only tenuously WAY related: it's a parody, and it includes some of his lyrics...

Jerry Springer used to be mayor of Cincinnati? Those must have been some interesting city council meetings. Wonder what the monthly bills for podium and chair breakage came to.
At least I'm glad that the 1999-vintage city fathers (and possibly mothers) decided not to toss Al in the hoosegow for violation of the noise ordinances.
